Adrian Anderson

Adrian Anderson is Chief Executive of UVAC and has led UVAC’s work on the Government’s flagship Degree Apprenticeship programme.  UVAC has a membership of approximately 60 universities drawn from all mission groups and was established to champion higher level vocational learning. UVAC was commissioned in 2015, early 2016, July 2016 and May 2017 to provide strategic advice to HEFCE on defining and supporting the development of the Higher Education Institution role in Degree Apprenticeship.

  • Understanding the skills needs and requirements of employers developing apprenticeship programmes within further and higher education
  • Assessing how institutions can ensure effective employer leadership in the design and delivery of higher and degree apprenticeship programmes
  • Evaluating the demand for apprenticeships focused around technical and vocational skills and analysing how providers can meet this demand
  • Developing a validation and approval process for higher and degree apprenticeships which is led by employers
  • Analysing how successful provider-employer partnerships can be developed to ensure apprenticeships support meaningful skill development
